Talmi is an academic planning and career exploration platform designed to help students understand degree requirements, plan courses, identify potential academic risks, and explore how their academic choices may connect to future career directions.

We understand that academic planning information can be personal and sensitive. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we disclose it, how long we retain it, and the rights and choices available to you.

In this Privacy Policy, "Talmi," "we," "us," and "our" refer to TALMI.AI LTD. TALMI.AI LTD is the controller of the personal information described in this Policy.

2. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through:

• The Talmi website;
• The Talmi web application;
• Talmi user accounts;
• Academic planning tools;
• Degree-progress and prerequisite features;
• Career exploration and skills-mapping features;
• AI-powered recommendations;
• Beta programs, interviews, surveys, and product research;
• Customer support;
• Emails and other communications relating to the service;
• Purchases and subscriptions; and
• Any other Talmi service that links to this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy does not govern the independent privacy practices of universities, payment providers, external websites, or third-party services that Talmi does not control.

Providing personal information to Talmi is voluntary and is not required by law. However, if you do not provide information required to create an account or generate an academic plan, some or all Talmi features may not be available to you.

3. Talmi Is an Independent Student Service

Talmi is currently offered directly to students. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, Talmi:

• Is not operated by your university;
• Is not an official university academic-advising service;
• Is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by your university;
• Does not act on behalf of your university;
• Does not have access to your university's official student-information systems; and
• Does not automatically send your information to your university.

Information that you provide directly to Talmi may not constitute an "education record" under the United States Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, commonly known as FERPA.

Regardless of whether FERPA applies, Talmi treats identifiable academic-planning information as sensitive personal information and applies the protections described in this Privacy Policy.

If Talmi later begins providing services directly for an educational institution, additional institutional terms, privacy notices, data-processing agreements, or FERPA-related requirements may apply.

4. Information We Collect

4.1 Account information. When you register for or manage a Talmi account, we may collect your name, email address, account identifier, authentication and login information, email-verification status, account status, subscription status, communication preferences, referral or promotional codes, and information needed to administer your account.

Passwords may be processed and stored by our authentication provider. Talmi does not intentionally store user passwords in readable form.

4.2 University and academic information. We may collect information you enter, select, upload, import, or generate while using Talmi, including:

• Your university or educational institution;
• Academic program, major, minor, concentration, track, or specialization;
• Enrollment year and expected graduation date;
• Completed, current, and planned courses, and alternative course selections;
• Credit totals, degree requirements, and prerequisite/co-requisite information;
• Preferred course load, study preferences, and scheduling constraints;
• Work or personal availability constraints and academic goals;
• Course ratings and feedback;
• Intended career direction, career interests, target roles, and skills you want to develop; and
• Notes or other information you voluntarily submit.

You should not submit information that Talmi does not request, including Social Security numbers, medical records, detailed health information, government identification numbers, financial-aid records, complete payment-card information, or confidential information belonging to another person.

4.3 Talmi-generated information. Based on your inputs and the information available to Talmi, we may create and retain suggested degree plans, course recommendations, prerequisite and co-requisite checks, course-load indicators, scheduling and course-availability alerts, estimated degree progress, potential delay indicators, academic risk alerts, what-if simulations, career insights, course-to-skill mappings, skills-readiness indicators, AI-generated explanations, suggested next actions, and records of changes you make to your plan. These outputs may be linked to your Talmi account so that you can review, update, and compare plans.

4.4 Payment and subscription information. Payments and subscriptions are processed by Paddle or its affiliated entities, acting as the payment provider or merchant of record, as applicable. Depending on the provider and payment method, the provider may collect name, email address, billing address, payment-method information, transaction details, tax information, subscription information, device information, and risk/fraud-prevention information.

Talmi does not receive or store your complete payment-card number. Talmi may receive limited payment information necessary to operate your subscription, such as payment status, subscription plan, purchase and renewal dates, cancellation status, currency, amount paid, transaction identifier, and limited payment-method details (such as the final digits of a card). The payment provider processes certain information under its own legal terms and privacy policy.

4.5 Usage and technical information. When you access Talmi, we and our service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, approximate location derived from technical information, time-zone setting, login and authentication activity, pages/screens viewed, features used, buttons clicked, dates and times of access, referring page or source, session information, error reports, performance and diagnostic data, security events, fraud-prevention signals, cookie identifiers, and similar technical information.

4.6 Communications, feedback, and research. When you contact us or participate in a Talmi beta program, interview, survey, or research activity, we may collect the content of your messages, contact details, support requests, bug reports, screenshots, attachments, survey answers, interview notes, product feedback, ratings, testimonials submitted with your permission, and information about your experience with Talmi. We will not publish your name, likeness, quotation, or identifiable testimonial for marketing purposes without appropriate permission.

5. How We Use Information

5.1 Providing Talmi. We use information to create and administer your account; save and display your academic plan; calculate estimated degree progress; evaluate prerequisites and co-requisites; identify potential conflicts or risks; generate alternative plans and what-if simulations; provide course, career, and skills insights; personalize the service; generate reports and exports; respond to your selections and requests; and maintain continuity between sessions.

5.2 Payments and subscriptions. We use relevant information to process purchases, manage subscriptions, confirm payments, process renewals and cancellations, apply discounts, provide receipts, respond to billing inquiries, detect payment fraud, and maintain accounting and transaction records.

5.3 Service communications. We may send communications relating to account verification, authentication, password resets, security, subscription status, billing, account changes, service availability, material product changes, changes to legal terms, privacy requests, and customer support. Essential service communications are not marketing messages and may continue while your account remains active.

Talmi does not currently send marketing communications. If we introduce them, we will provide any notices, choices, and unsubscribe options required by applicable law.

5.4 Product improvement. We may use information to understand how Talmi is used, improve usability, identify bugs, evaluate product performance, develop new features, improve academic rules and recommendations, improve AI prompts and workflows, conduct quality assurance, train Talmi personnel, evaluate beta feedback, and measure whether Talmi helps users identify or avoid planning problems.

5.5 Security and legal purposes. We may use information to authenticate users, protect accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, investigate suspicious activity, maintain audit records, enforce our Terms of Use, protect Talmi and its users, respond to legal process, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

5.6 Aggregated and de-identified analytics. We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it does not reasonably identify an individual user, and use it to analyze academic-planning patterns, understand common planning risks, evaluate feature performance, produce internal benchmarks, conduct research, improve Talmi, present non-identifiable statistics, and support business and product decisions.

We do not sell identifiable academic-planning information. We do not use identifiable academic-planning information for third-party targeted advertising. We will not attempt to re-identify properly de-identified information except where reasonably necessary to test the effectiveness of our de-identification procedures or as permitted by law.

6. AI-Powered Features

Talmi may use artificial-intelligence and machine-learning services to support features such as course-information extraction, auto-fill, degree-plan analysis, risk explanations, what-if simulations, career exploration, skills mapping, and user-support functions.

When you use an AI-powered feature, Talmi may send selected information to an AI provider, including course codes, names, and descriptions; program requirements; completed or planned courses; academic preferences and study constraints; career interests; relevant user instructions; and other information needed to generate the requested output.

Talmi seeks to minimize the information submitted to AI services. AI requests are generally limited to academic-planning inputs needed for the requested feature. Talmi does not intentionally include passwords or complete payment information in AI requests and seeks to avoid direct account identifiers where they are not needed. AI providers process information under their applicable terms, settings, and agreements. Talmi may use aggregated or de-identified information to improve its academic rules, prompts, workflows, and product performance.

You should not place unnecessary personal, confidential, medical, financial, or third-party information in free-text fields. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or outdated. AI outputs are provided as planning support and must not be treated as official academic advice.

7. When We Disclose Information

Talmi does not sell personal information. Talmi does not automatically provide your identifiable academic plan to your university. We may disclose information in the circumstances described below.

7.1 Service providers. We may engage third-party providers for cloud hosting, databases, authentication, payment processing, AI processing, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, security, fraud prevention, customer support, document generation, infrastructure, and professional services. Talmi currently uses cloud infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Paddle or its affiliated entities process payments and subscriptions. We may update providers as the service develops.

7.2 At your direction. We may disclose or transmit information when you request an export, direct us to share information, connect an external service, participate in optional research, authorize support access, submit information for publication, or otherwise provide valid consent.

7.3 Legal, security, and safety purposes. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law; respond to a valid subpoena, court order, or governmental demand; investigate fraud or abuse; protect the security of Talmi; protect the rights, property, or safety of Talmi, users, or others; enforce agreements; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Where legally permitted and reasonably practical, we may seek to notify the affected user before disclosing information in response to legal process.

7.4 Professional advisers. We may provide limited information to lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, financing sources, and professional advisers where reasonably necessary and subject to confidentiality obligations.

7.5 Business transfers. Talmi may disclose or transfer information in connection with an investment, financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, change of control, or insolvency process. A successor operator that receives personal information will be required to process it in accordance with this Privacy Policy until users are appropriately notified of a lawful change.

7.6 Aggregated or de-identified information. We may disclose aggregated or de-identified statistics that do not reasonably identify an individual — for example, how many users identified a prerequisite issue, changed a course plan, or explored a particular career category.

8. Universities and Public Academic Information

Talmi may collect and use publicly available information published by universities, including course catalogs, degree requirements, program pages, academic calendars, course descriptions, prerequisite information, and publicly published policies. Talmi does not control this information and cannot guarantee that it is complete, current, or error-free.

Selecting a university in Talmi does not give that university access to your account. Talmi will not provide identifiable student-level information to a university unless you direct or authorize the disclosure; Talmi enters a separate institutional arrangement that is disclosed to affected users; disclosure is necessary to provide a feature you request; or disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may exercise the following rights.

9.1 Access. You may review information available within your account, or request information regarding the categories of personal information associated with your account by contacting privacy@talmi.ai.

9.2 Correction. You may correct information that is editable within Talmi, or request correction of information that cannot be edited directly. Corrections made in Talmi do not alter official university records. Requests to correct catalog or university-source information may require independent verification.

9.3 Export. Users of paid plans may use any export functionality made available within Talmi. Available export formats and content depend on the selected plan, the type of information, and Talmi's current functionality. Additional access or portability rights may apply under applicable law.

9.4 Deletion. You may request deletion of your Talmi account through the service, where available, or by emailing privacy@talmi.ai. After verifying the request, Talmi will delete or de-identify account information from active Talmi systems within 30 days, except where retention is reasonably necessary to complete a transaction; maintain tax or accounting records; detect fraud; investigate security incidents; prevent abuse; resolve disputes; enforce agreements; comply with legal obligations; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

If backups are enabled, residual information may remain in backups for up to 90 days before deletion or overwrite through the ordinary backup cycle. De-identified or aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies you may be retained. Public or independently maintained academic catalog, course, and institutional information is not part of your personal account and may remain in Talmi's datasets after account deletion. Information processed independently by Paddle, your university, or another third party is subject to that party's deletion practices.

9.5 Optional research and benchmarking. Where Talmi requests permission to use identifiable information for optional research, testimonials, publication, or non-essential benchmarking, participation will be voluntary. You may withdraw permission for future optional processing by contacting us or using an available privacy control. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.

9.6 Marketing. Talmi does not currently send marketing emails. If marketing communications are introduced, you may opt out using the method provided in the message. You may continue receiving essential service, security, legal, billing, and account communications.

9.7 Appeals and complaints. If Talmi denies a privacy request, you may ask us to reconsider by emailing privacy@talmi.ai with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal." You may also have the right to complain to an applicable privacy, data-protection, or consumer-protection authority.

10. Verification of Requests

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a privacy request, such as asking you to sign in or confirm control of the email address associated with your account. We will request only information reasonably necessary for verification. Where permitted by law, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf, subject to appropriate proof of authority and identity.

11. Data Retention

We retain account and academic-planning information while your account is active and as needed to provide Talmi. Following a verified deletion request, we will delete or de-identify personal information from active systems within 30 days, subject to the exceptions described above.

Unless a longer period is required or justified by law, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal claims, our general retention periods are:

• Usage and analytics information: up to 13 months;
• Support communications: up to 24 months;
• Security, access, and administrative logs: up to 3 years;
• Backups, if enabled: up to 90 days; and
• Payment, tax, and accounting records: for the period required by applicable law and Paddle's applicable practices.

De-identified or aggregated information may be retained without a fixed period where it no longer reasonably identifies an individual. Public academic catalogs, course requirements, institutional information, and Talmi's underlying academic datasets may also be retained and updated independently of any user account.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Talmi may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the service, maintain sessions, remember settings, protect accounts, and understand basic service performance. At the date of this Policy, Talmi does not use advertising pixels, remarketing tools, targeted-advertising cookies, or session-recording and heatmap tools. If we later introduce non-essential tracking technologies, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or consent mechanism required by applicable law.

13. Information Security

Talmi uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. Current measures include HTTPS encryption for information in transit, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrative access, restrictions on production access, audit and administrative logging, and periodic access-permission reviews. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and should notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

14. Security Incidents

If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will assess the incident, take reasonable steps to contain and remediate it, and provide notices when required by applicable law.

15. International Processing

Talmi is operated from Israel. AWS, Paddle, AI services, and other service providers may process information in Israel, the United States, the European Economic Area, or other countries. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those in your location. Where required, we will use appropriate legal mechanisms for cross-border transfers.

16. Age Requirements

Talmi is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage user has provided personal information, we may close the account and delete or de-identify the information as appropriate.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Talmi develops or as legal requirements change. We will revise the "Last Updated" date and, where required, provide additional notice of material changes. Your continued use of Talmi after an update becomes effective is subject to the updated Policy.
